Today:30km
Week: 85km
Month: 158.5km
Year: 482.5km
I think I ran up every step in Sydney this morning!!! We did a 30km loop this morning starting at the spit bridge, around to Clontarf, back across the bridge, up some huge hills to Balmoral, up a few more huge hills to mosman, around to the Naval base and then ran along the bush trail along the foreshore, around past the Zoo, Mosman Bay, Cremorne Point and then back through Mosman to the spit bridge. This was one TOUGH run!!! I felt like if we were not running up hills, we were running up stairs! My glutes were soooo pooped by the time we got back to the car..... where we gulped down some diet coke and ate aboout 100 jelly beans :-) Despite being very tough, it was a beautiful run and very satisfying. The views on this run are spectacular!! We kept ourselves motivated by saying if we can do this Canberra is a walk in the park (well not quite, but...). I am definately improving on the hills as I didn't need to stop at all and just kept going.... a bit slower but still going :-) We managed to cover 30km in just under 3hrs...just under 6min/km pace. The last 5kms we somehow found some extra energy and were running 5:20km's.... which was pretty quick given the hills in the first 25km! Early to bed tonight I think!!!! This week is the most km's I have run and I am happy to report the ITB and other bits are feeling good... all touch wood now!!! Right at this minute I am aching all over... but normal 30km run aching!

Wow, what a huge run Kit. Sounds like your preparation is just perfect for Canberra.
Well done Kit! After reading about that run I feel exhausted (even though I have just had a nana-nap)!
That's another great run Kit, there's lots of steps and hills around that area. But as you say some lovely views to make up for it.
85km for the week! That's great going. As you said another tough week or two and then we can start thinking about our taper and how blissful it is going to be.
I feel lazy now for doing so much flat running. You have spurred me on to go and do some hills this week !
That's a fabulous run, and a good choice for the scenery.
You know that anyone who likes scenery ends up a 6 foot track!!
Woohoo - an 85k week! Terrific stuff Katie.
Thats sounds like on hell of a 30k training run - coming home so strongly after all those hills is a great sign. Like Clairie, I'm starting to think we do too much flat running!
Fantastic run, Katie. Sub 3hours on those hills & steps is just scary!

That is one huuuuge run Kit and 85k's for the week too - wow ;-)
I think DJ is right!
Another strong 30km run in the bank Katie. I read somewhere that the more long runs you can put together decreases the likelihood of injury. Just normal aches and pains sounds good to me.
Far out - think i need a sleep after reading your post. Nice work!
Fantastic effort kitty kat - the run sounds fantastic (from the armchair view), but I empathise with the pain of the stairs and hills! Great prep for Canberra though.
Hope you pull up OK after such a big week
Sound slike we both had fairly tough long runs. I've recovered pretty well - had an epsom salts bath last night, that seems to have helped.
Love the jelly bean count! Once I start eating them I can't stop. However I am in serious marathon diet mode now (!) so no more junk until after the marathon! (this shoudl be interesting!)
Gee, if there are 13 people reading your blog after a few steps, they'll be 50 people reading it by the time we get to Canberra.
Don't feel like I'm putting any pressure on you !!
