Mid Week Long Run

Today:17km
Week: 32km
Month: 104km
Year: 428km

This morning I set the alarm for 4:45am and met Deanne at the park at 5:30 for out mid week long run. Up until today I have been doing this in the evening with striders, but find it has been very draining backing up for training on Thursday morning. So I thought this morning I would try the morning run and give up some precious sleep. It is very true that a little hard work can reap Big rewards.... what a fantastic way to start the day!! It was still dark when we set off from Centenial park and headed toward Bronte Beach and ran along the coastal path while the sun got out of bed. We ran along to the end of the path at Bondi Beach and then made the climb back up along Bondi Rd- which got the heart pumping :-) We then turned down Carrington rd and back into Queens park and finished with an outside loop of Centenial Park. We finished back at the car having run 17km and plenty of time to get home to shower, eat and get to work with 5 mins to spare. I snuck the skins on under the work pants and am feeling really good. We managed to keep a pretty consistant pace despite the hills and ran the last 30mins pretty quickly... which shut us both up :-) Once I warmed up the legs felt great, although the glutes knew they had done their exercises last night running up form Bondi :-) Overall feeling pretty happy! Now I have an evening free, plenty of time to recover for tommorow and a healthy hit of endorphins to start the day :-)

Today: 17km
Average Pace: 5:40min/km
