Today: 13km

Firstly, thanks for the comments and support! Yes I obviously needed a few days of no running and more sleep! Which I did. I also took a few days off work (ADO's god bless then) and slept a lot! I feel a million times better and in a better frame of mind! I can see why sleep deprivation is such a successful torture technique! So I feel sparking again and back to my woo hooing self! I herby pledge to take a day off when needed... GUILT FREE and get enough precious sleep!!
This morning I bounced out of bed without any dramas and headed to the park. I did my usual 3km warm up and then we did the outside Fartlek loop of the park. Theres a good little group of girls now and we are pretty close in pace- makes it fun using each other to go quicker or pace yourself. I felt I was able to push myself a bit this morning and my surges were all about 4:30-4:40min/km pace (except the last one!). Sean has extended some of the surges so most of them are about 800m or 1km in length..... must be because we are all doing longer distance training. It definately felt better doing this session not running the wednesday evening- although still far from quick! The last two surges were tougher as I had been dragged along by DJ and Liz Miller for the previous surge... tried to chase them for a while ??? what was I thinking :-) So I felt a bit jelly legged for the last one.... one can dream :-) So today I feel back to my usuall self.... amazing what a heap of sleep can do. I am looking foward to this weekends running- a nice flater 30km on Sunday and Jim is running some bush on the Saturday... I could be tempted??
Distance: 13km
Time: 1hr 10min
Overall Average Pace: 5:22 min/km

Glad you hear you are up and at 'em again Katie!
Must've been fun chasing DJ and Liz Miller, even if you couldn't catch them. And after reading his blog I can't blame you for letting him get away from you ;-)
Great news Kit, really great to see you bounce back so quickly ;-)
Great to see those blahs took their leave. No use in having them hanging around cluttering up the place.
Good come back. I don't know about Liz, but you would've caught me had I not crept away when you weren't looking.
I lurve ADOs. I'm having one next week :)
As we discussed in our emails the rest is good for you. I might even see you on Saturday.
Great stuff Kit. Steve said you looked really strong yesterday and ready for the marathon. I'm getting really excited for you!
So good to hear you are back to your woo hooing self again - thank goodness! I had a week like that last week - thankfully I am having a much better week this week.
So take care because there is the big picture - Canberra marathon here we come - woo hoo!!!!
