Today:10km
Week:16km
Month: 229km
Year: 553km
Perfect running weather this morning... much cooler and the sun stayed away. I did my usual 3km warm up, strides and drills an then into the intervals. Today we had programed 1x 1600m, 1 x 1200m, 2x 800m with 2 min active recovery. There was a big group this morning and Roy worlds was back to training :-) I felt pretty happy with the session today- Certainly did't flog myself but a consistant hard effort. The hamstrings felt tired at the third one... not a lot of kick in them. I seem to just run at the same pace.... the other girls always pull away from me on the last 200m- I try hard to catch them or at least stick with them, but a bit too quick :-)
1600m- 7:32 (4:41 km split)
1200m- 5:31 (4:39 km split)
800m- 3:37
800m- 3:33
EDIT: I compared my times for this session with 2 weeks ago and my 1600m and 1200m were 10 secs faster this week and my 800m were 5 secs faster.... so even happier with my effort :-)

great to see you breezing through these sessions - the kms are racking up quickly for Canberra aren't they?
Same pace and consistency are good for marathons.
I only pulled away from you in the last 5 metres on the first repetition. The lentil effect.
Sounds like this speedwork caper is becoming popular, Pat's group seems to get bigger every week. Ah, more people to chase!
Good session Katie - intervals are character-building! I have a 7km cross country race this afternoon - my first run for the week, being an easy week. Actually I feel quite lethargic so this run should be good for me.
Another nice workout Kit and it is great to see the constant improvement in times but I wouldn't go near those lentils if I were you ;-)
Isn't it cool to see improvement like that... :-)

Kit, when I grow up I want to be a runner like you :-)
Hi Kit - thanks for all your encouragement - it is very helpful! And like Jen says - one day I want to be just like you!
Good to see the improvement. What did I say about coming back stronger.
