Soul food...and a present for my feet!

Today: 5km
Week: 5km
Month: 77km
Year: 401km

Todays run was 30mins easy recovery run. I could not drag myself out of bed this morning, so I headed out this afternoon after work. I left the garmin at home and just let the legs turn over. It was one of those runs that just feeds the soul. Once I got going, with the music playing I could not help but just smile as I ran along. This sounds pretty corny buit it is nice to just get outside and enjoy running. Now after about 3kms I was feeling pretty hot and thinking "I really should have done this this morning".... but before I knew it 30mins had passed and I was at the gym in the nice airconditioning stretching and doing my glute exercises. The new shoes felt awesome!!! Amazing how you don't realise how dead your shoes are until the new ones go on and the feet go "ahhh thats the stuff"!!! It no longer felt like some one was whacking the soles of my feet with slabs of cement :-) and a heap cheaper than months of physio!

I can't believe you can go for a run after yesterday's effort, sounds like your endurance is building up strongly. :)

Good stuff investing in the runners.
Puts a spring in your step.

Mmmm, new shoes - I like that! What sort did you get? I wore my red and white light trasining shoes for the cross country race last week and I'll wear them again tomorrow - they are sooo light!

Anyway sounds like you've recovered well after yesterday's excellent long run - way to go!

Glad you've pulled up okay from your big run yesterday, its a great sign. As you say 'Canberra, here we come!'.
