Rest Day.

I have made today another rest day...the sleep in was beautiful! I decided to make this week a lighter training week to give the old legs a bit of a rest. I am wanting to have a lighter week about every 6 weeks to give my body a chance to rest. Seans program currently has me running 7 days- 3 harder sessions (hills, speed work and fartlek), two medium runs ( not all out, but not easy), 1 easy run and my weekly long run (about 2hours). I am also trying to make it to the gym 3 x week for strength and injury prevention. If there is any extra energy I am trying to fit in a swim or two. All of this extra training is helping a lot with my strength and speed.... but it is a fine line. So needless to say I am paying attention to my body and having a rest day when I can feel a niggle. Prevention is better than cure- and less expensive!! Also happy to report the injury kg's are almost gone... 2 to go Woo hoo!!
Tommorow off to the Park for a Fartlek session. I am also thinking about doing the Fitzroy Falls 10km with Bernie as a training run.

18 days to go until Japan!!!! WOO HOO!!!!

Glad to see you're having a rest day today, especially with all the other things going on in your life, I'm sure the sleep is needed!

See you tomorrow :)

Enjoy the rest day, and give your body plenty of time to recharge. Looking forward to Saturday's 10K, and yes I plan to use the run a training run as well.

Wow, that is a really tough program Kit. But good on you for listening to your body and not being afraid to have a rest day - not to mention getting extra sleep which is just as important.
