Fisrtly thanks for the positive and reasuuring words!! It helps to hear that all is ok... even though rationally I already knew this! It is amazing how everything seems so much worse when you are in pain! Today I feel much more composed and things are not so glum. Fistly, how can you be glum when this afternoon I started 4 weeks holiday.... yes that's correct 4 weeks... woo hoo! Secondly as my newly appointed Yoda (2p ) pointed out I am incontroll of my own destiny ( Destiny you say...hmmm). So I toddled off to the physio this morning.... he maintians that the pain is related to the nerves being all tangled up in my glutes and lower back. He reassured me they will settle, but suggested that I should not do the cross trainer as that may have made it cranky. I am alowed to swim to my hearts content, do my gym work and MUST do all my new core strengthening exercises! But all of this will not matter, as once in Japan it will only be my core exercises I can do (on my tatami mat inn my Ryokan). So as has been wisely suggested..... 3 weeks rest here I come! I am not going to panic about how unfit and slow I will be on return! I am planning to have a butt and abs so strong that I will be back to running well in no time! So my trip could not be more perfectly timed.... and Ray will not have to worry about me running off into Tokyo never to be seen again haha.... no faith in my navagational skills!!
So new leaf..... turning it over!! No more being miserable! I am going to focus on the the positive side, get strong and blitz my first marathon :)
3 DAYS TIL LIFT OFF!!!!

I wish I'd read your wish words before launching in to another large bowl of chocolate chip ice cream. You are right Kit; we are in control of our own destiny and in control of our attitudes and responses to the situations that we find ourselves in.
Have a fantastic holiday, enjoy your 3 weeks rest and don't fret; with all those core exercises, you will come back stronger
Look forward to catching up with you over lunch with Lulu when you get back,
Take care,
J xx
Have a fantastic time in Japan and just rest and enjoy yourself. You'll be so strong after three weeks of core and glute work they'll be no stopping you. A couple of weeks back with Sean and you'll be back on track to blizt Canberra.. have no fear :) I'll miss you while you're away as I'll have no Coach Kit or Coach Deanne so I've told Amjan she has to be coach for a few weeks.
Have a great holiday in Japan Katie. It will do you the world of good. Then when you get back, you will be rearing to go again as you build up to Canberra.
