Another tough session this morning!! I have no idea how some people can baounce back after a marathon so quickly???? I am feeling really good, no injuries and feel like I could run all day at 5:30 pace BUT try to go quicker and my heart rate sky rockets and I feel crap!! Today we had speed work around the lake. The lake loop according to the garmin was 1.5kms. I had to do 2 laps with a recovery and then 1 lap. After the first lap of the lake I was feeling pretty pooped but just focused on Bec in fron of me to maintain my pace. So I did the first 2 laps in 13:55. Ray had done 3 laps and had ran really well..... but it meant he got no recovery at all before Sean sent us off for the next lap. That is TOUGH!!! Deanne and I worked together in the last lap... both of us are not a 100% at the moment. As we got to the final 200ms I egged her on and we put in a big surge to finish and crossed the line together :-) The single lap was 6:58. For the 3 loops we averaged 4:48/km pace..... but it felt like we were running much harder than that!!! I tell you what I am looking forward to feeling back yo my usual self... not that I am impatient :-)

Patience Katie! Your body is still adapting to running and will take a little longer to recover from a marathon. Let the crazies like Blue Dog do their thing as their bodies are now tuned to a faster recovery.
Sounds like you are doing just fine to me Kit.
It's good to fake it Kit.
If you make it look too easy and comfortable, you'll have to go on longer.
I'm talking about running by the way.
Of course you are Mr Don Juan...of course you are...(chuckles)....mmm the things we share about ourselves huh!
Kit, dont be harsh on yourself. Congratulat yourself on a fantastic acheivement...2 marathons cpmpleted in 5 months of each other...FANTASTIC. Again, YOU ARE A STAR.
keep up the hard slog.
xx
Hmm...wise words here already. You are indeed a star and do need to be easier on yourself. Personally I'd stay away from any hard running for a month. Actually, I seem to have taken a permanent break from hard running, so don't listen too much to what I say. Just enjoy! That husband of yours is doing great!
call me a slacko!!!!
I have bloggged!!!
so there:)
xx
You'll be back to your normal bouncy self v.v. soon I have no doubt. Just enjoy your running and your friends and all will be well in no time at all.
Great of you to pace Ellie to her 5km PB too.. you're always so generous with your time.
What happened to the Kitty Kat that could bask in the post-marathon sun for a few weeks?
