This morning I could have easily stayed in bed, snuggled under the doona.... this drought has certainly made me soft!! I am very happy I made the effort, it was actually a really great run with Striders through Centenial Park, the City, the Domain and back through the cross. I ran about 15km and it felt very comfortable. My feet/heels felt great... no dramas at all, and the last km I picked up the pace and finished feeling really strong. runningn in the rain is fun... the cazy stuff that as adults we should be too sensible to do... a bit cold once we stopped though! It was great to catch up with the MTG- all excited about next weeks Marathon challenge! I can't wait to give canberra another go!! Hopefully the body plays fair this time around! I can not imagine being able to actually complete the distance in one piece, but after lots of half's I am ready to give it a go.
The plan for this week is to follow Sean's program, but keep a close eye on my feet... oh so neurotic :) If they stay good..... Sydney half here I come :) I just love the run over the bridge and that last 2km down to the opera house are a buzz!
Now fingers crossed for a win for the beloved Knights to cap off a great weekend :)

Fingers crossed everything goes toplan and you can do the Sydney half. I'm looking forward to running over the bridge (marathon). Would you believe, i've never been over the bridge before, by car or by foot! I have my last massage pre-marathon on Thursday afternoon - hopefully he can iron out the niggles and tight spots.
Woohoo - a marathon; how exciting for you!!
Fingers are crossed that your foot is ok for Sunday. Let's hope the weather clears so we can really enjoy the day! J.
Katie, glad you got through the 15k pain free. Hope it all works out this week and you get to run.
Thanks for the reminder about the bridge. I'd forgotten just how incredible it is and thinking about it has helped ease my marathon dread a little :-)
