I had a ball yesterday as 'catcher' in the Striders 10km race.... lots of sweat and a near vomiting made for an exciting morning. You do not realise how out of it runners are as they cross the finish line until you are trying to instruct people to stay in line :-) Lots of great running out there too.... finally got to say Hi to Miners (minus the pink blowse!). I then headed to the gym for a spin class and core work before a lovely day with Ray.
This morning I headed to the pool with my $2:50 radio to do an hours water running. With music and the lovely warm sun it was actually quite nice. I did 10 mins warm up then 8 mins of harder effort with 2 min easier.... did this until the hour clocked over. This afternoon Ray and I are heading out on the bike :-)
The great news is that following my pelvis being whacked back into place there is a MASSIVE improvement in the leg. It actually feels back to normal, no pins and needles and no discomfort at all. Yeah!!! So hopefully on Wednesday the physio lets me go for a run. All good!!! Unil then I will stick to the pool and bike!

I've been catcher once at Lane Cove. Certainly can get a bit wet at the end of the race. Great to hear the leg is almost back to normal.
It was lovely to see you again yesterday. I'm so pleased to hear that your leg has improved after Friday's torture. I have no doubt that with all your water running & spin classes, you will have lost very little (if any) fitness
Great new Kit. I'm sure as Jen says you'll be as fit as you were before your short break.
Good volunteering effort at striders.
I like a good vomit too.
Hopefully see you soon ; and don't eat before training.
Having done catcher duty myself, I reckon that the striders should provide nice green gloves and maybe operating theatre gowns to the catchers :-). It gets kinda wet, doesn't it :-)
Good news about the leg. You're going to cream the half now.

Hi kit - good news about the leg improving - will be excellent to see you (well at least your back) at sweat again soon!
I understand what you mean about being out of it at the end of the race - I had no idea you were there until we met properly about 20 minutes later!
Great to finally catch up :)
Its been 24 blog entries since I last read your blog and it sounds like you are also suffering from an injury (I've just read Jen's and Lulu's!). What are you guys doing up there! Look after yourselves! Take care Kit!
That is GREAT news about the leg Kit - gee if I had of known you would be catching I might have been tempted to do Striders 10k ;-)
Look forward to reading some running posts after Wednesday.
Fantastic news about the leg Kit. Fingers crossed for a very happy blog entry on Wednesday.
I want to hear about this el cheapo radio. Is it just a radio you put on the side of the pool or is it a headphonish thing?
As always it was great to catch up. Your positive attitude sure gave my spirits (also injured) a lift.
A big responsibility not to drop anyone!
Massive is good news Kit.
Good luck with the physio.
