On the 6th day til marathon my true love brought to me....

Week: 5km
Month: 20km
Year: 1033km

On the sixth day til marathon my true love brought to me.....

This feels like waiting for Christmas!! The great thing is Seans program has us running regular, short and easy runs this week which is stopping me from getting too jumpy. Today was 5kms easy, so I headed out from home around a short loop listening to my i-pod. My heart rate hardly even moved and it felt really realxed. I just plodded along, day dreaming about the race. I have read that positive visualisation can help develop neural pathways and enhance performace..... watch out Liz Miller, at my rate I will win the thing :-) At least I am a positive thinker!! I have added my running gloves and long sleeve strider top to my "too be packed list"... 2 degrees in Canberra yesterday am, that is soooo cold!!! I have to say, that is much better than the heat of last year.... I will take the cool anytime!

So bear with me people... this week will not be particularly exciting! Just me clock watching..... waiting out the days :-) Patience is a virtue and good things come to those who wait.... blah blah, who am I kidding I'd do a deal with the devil to speed this week up :-)

Now watch this space.... there are some enquiries about my Strider St Henri time estimate~ haha I am trying to keep some Don Juan mystique to the affair ;-)

Ho, ho, ho.

Better order that inflatable jumping castle for the lounge room to burn off the extra energy.

If you want to get that St Henri from Santa (*nods head*) then you might want to ask Sean for a finishing time on Thursday as well.

C'mon Kit, don't leave us in suspenders :-)

If I was putting in a St Henri's Challenge for you, I'd be saying 3:50. Although, I am not trying to put any pressure on you. ;-)

Kit, re the long top and gloves...be careful. You don't want to overdress. Don't just look at that 2 degrees...what did it get up to? What temp can you expect one hour, two hours into the race? Unless it is a really cold day and/or will get significantly colder as the race progresses, then it will be easier to overdress than underdress. Better to be cold early than sweltering and dehydrating later. That is my practical tip for the day.

Kit some PP at the moment will work well - patience and psoitive thoughts. Keep up the easy runs and enjoy the buld up in the tension and excitment. Will be looking of you during the race. You have done all the hard work and don't blow it with a foolish race plan. Have a sensible one and some fall back ones as we have discussed. Look forward to a hug sometime with a MARATHONER!!!
