One hour easy around the park

No work for me today... yeah! So I headed to Centenial Park about 8am for an hour easy run. I covered 11kms and kept a nice easy pace. It was really hot even at 8am... sweat pouring out of me! I ran the outside loop of the park and included a 2km loop of Queens park.... that was a hard 2kms- no shade and the sun was beating down. Overall pretty happy with the run... no major niggles to complain about and now have a free day for whatever I feel like! I bumped into Kerry who was out running again after a really long lay off from a torn achilles.... she is getting back into things and hopefully will be back with the sweat group in the new year.
Thanks for the comments.... I need to keep the negative side of the brain quiet!! I could talk my self out of anything.
Distance:11km
Time: 61mins
Average pace: 5:30/km

Great run - particularly in the heat Kit! I know you will be in the Canberra Marathon as you are part of my support plan (when I get tired look for Kit for support)! You wouldn't let me down would you?

Great to see you get back out there Katie. Not that easy to do in this weather at this time of year. It helps to stay positive. Something I always tell myself if I am struggling to get out there for a run. You will be glad you did when you finish because you very rarely get back from a run wishing you hadn't run.

Very pleased to hear that your niggles are now behaving themselves.

Wishing you all the best for 2006. Thank you for all your support - 2006 is going to be a year of many firsts and PBs for both of us. Bring it on :-)

I know you can make it to Canberra this year. Don't worry about your knee. It's probaby the result of the changes you're making in your glutes etc and will soon settle down. I'll be back running next week so we will see you very soon and I'll cheer you up :)

It will be great if Kerry comes back to SWEAT too!

It is hard running in the hot weather. Its not getting any cooler either!

Read your previous entries - its normal to have negative thoughts about the marathon but hang in there, you will do it! Just do the training but be sensible (ie don't do as I do but do as I say!), if you're extra tired or have a niggle that won't go away, a day or two off won't hurt.

Glad to hear your glutes are getting better - mine are so-so.
