What a fantastic morning!!! We ran the clovelly run this morning- starting at Queens Park we ran through the back streets to ? Bronte beach and then ran along the coastal path through the cemetary, through Clovelly and Coogee to Maroubra Beach, then back up Maroubra rd, through Randwick, down market st and popped back out at Queens Park. The sky was blue, sun shinning, water perfect... this is why I run, perfect mornings like today :-) The temparature was perfect ... not humid and a nice sea breeze. We ran 22.5km in about 2hr 12mins. We averaged 5:52/km. Apart from being one of the most scenic and spectacluar runs I felt really good this morning. I was able to run at a pretty consistant pace. We started off slow and steady and built up the pace as we ran. The last 6km were at about 5:15-20/km pace and I still felt pretty strong. Lots of concentrating on form and using my butt... all got a bit tired towards the end. There were a few hills in there to keep us honest, but not too bad! This morning I ran with another Strider... Naomie? It was great- we kept up a good pace and did not stop as often. She is training for the 6ft track and is a pretty strong long distance runner. She certainly pushed me along in the last 6k when I felt like backing off. Nothing to really complain about niggle wise... just the usual " I have run over 2hrs " soreness. So skins on, ice any sore bits, shower and then off for a lovely lunch with Lulu, Jen and DJ.
Total: 22.5km
Average: 5:52/km
Time: 2hrs 12min

I'm so glad that you have returned from your injury so well. You are running so well. Keep up those glute exercises and there will be no stopping you in 2006
Lovely, as always, to catch up with you today !
KIT said "We ran 22.5km in about 1hr 12mins".
That's awsome Kit. Your hard work is REALLY paying off. :-D
Seriously, the Canter is not easy especially coming home from Coogee. Well done !
Sounds spectacular Kit, you have really come back strong. Gotta love it when nature helps out too ;-)
You've come back from your time off really well Kit. That's a great run and I love running along the coast there, very scenic if a bit on the hilly side! Your physio sounds excellent even if he doesn make you work hard. It was great to see you and Ray yesterday and I hope he wasn't too bored by all the running talk :)
oooops meant to write 2hr 12min... I was not running that quickly ;-)
Sounds like a great course to run. And what a nice strong last 6k. You'll have to remember that feeling of not backing off, it might come in handy in Canberra.
A great run to have under the belt Kit. Out of interest was there much evidence of the heavy police presence at that time of the day? Like JD I was thinking about the STaR and running by the sea while running past the warehouses etc out west.
Runs like that are just great - glad you are running well.
Cheers,
Ben
what a lovely way to spend a morning - a great beach run, some personal time with the skins, and then lunch with such fine company. I'm green with enviousness up my way ...
