Today: 29km
Week: 93km
Month: 77km
Year: 707km
Well Sydney awoke with a hang over this morning.... aka Mardigras- and I awoke with legs to match. We headed straight up the Freeway to Newcastle yesterday for my Aunt's 50th birthday. In my committment to doing my long run and luch with some fellow mad runners we also did the drive home and I crawled into bed at 1am this morning. So the alarm and I were not friends this morning when it woke me at 5am! So I headed to Vaucluse for what turned out to be a spectacular run! We did 29km in 2hrs 55min and finished feeling pooped but ok. The views from the Gap and along the cliffs were beautiful! I wish I had a tiny camera!!
Unfortunately this week I have done a lot more km's on the road and this morning my legs felt it. Not sore.... just sick of being pounded into the cement! The few little patchs of grass were bliss! So this week I am in search for GRASS... nice soft spongy grass! Sp apart form achy glutes I felt good this morning! Surprisingly the hills were not too much of a struggle and I was not feeling the effects of yesterday or the late night! I was very happy though to collapse in bed for my nana nap before lunch! So this week is week 2 of my 4 tough weeks.... only 2 to go! So the next two weeks are lots of kms and two 34km runs before starting to decrease my kms for the big day! I am sooo excited.... only 2 more tough weeks to go! Can you smell it... I can :-)

Way to go Kit! ....and another piece of the marathon puzzle is fitted neatly into place.
That's a great run on so little sleep Kit. Not long to go now!
Those runs like yours today, where you don't take the easy option and make the extra effort have a strange habit of turning out to be special.
Good luck with your hard weeks.
Great stuff Katie, you sure bounced back well from that quick 10k.
That's a good way to look at it, two more hard weeks. Its coming around fast isn't it :-)
