I was trapped in bed this morning by the Doona Monster..... no not Ray :-) I opted for the extra 2hrs sleep and headed out this afternoon after work. I had 70mins on the program and covered 13km~ average pace 5:29/km. It was hilly loop around home and it was pretty cold and windy tonight. The hills are becoming easier which is nice..... all is going well in my mission to make hills my friend :-) Unfortunately the shenanigans with the doona monster mean I do not get much recovery for my speed work tommorow..... no rest for the wicked. On a different note.... has any one experienced loosing your appetite when training for a marathon? I am getting very hungry but have not a lot of desire for anything in particular. This happened at about the same point before Canberra.... am I just fussy?

I like dog food.
I can't stop eating after a long run. I'll eat anything. But I don't eat before a morning run, or take gu-s.
Perhaps you are fussy, but I get the same thing. Having it now actually - hungry but can't think of anything I feel like eating. I would draw the line at dog food, as a general rule.
I lost my appetite too!!!
Only on the days around a long run. I think my body didn't want to eat too much beforehand yet even my most desired pancakes etc after the run did not go down well and I was often nauseous for several hours after my long run.
To circumvent this I started (and still do) to drink a recovery protein shake that met both the running protein recovery and my higher calorie requirements.
A drink is much easier to get down than food when you have no appetite.
