Update!

The last blog was only 5 days ago but it feels like an eternity!! The last 5 days have felt like a whirlwind! The week before the marathon I had something happen between myself and my Dad which has caused me a lot of stress! I have found it really hard to just keep bouncing along like usual and it really got under my skin. Thankfully I am feeling back on top of things and I have to be so thankful for such wonderful family and friends. My lovely husband and sister have kept me afloat and I can not really express to them what they mean. But the other saving grace has been some brilliant people in my life whom I run and chat with all the time. I will not name and embarress them but they know who they are :-)

Then on saturday at the striders run Ellie gave me a little book which was FANTASTIC!!!! It is called "The little book of Joy" and it gave me heaps to think about. Life is too short so I did two things I have been mulling about for a while. I bought a brand new car and a viloin! I used to learn the violin when I was younger and then stoped which I have regretted. So in the spirit of making the most of life I am going to learn again!! I am really excited about this and can not wait for it to arrive! We have been thinking about a car for a while and finally made the plunge!! So a snazzy new red holden is on the way :-)

The other great thing was running withEllie and a few girls at the striders 10km race on Saturday. Now it was a tough day and Ellie had a hard run BUT I found it such a fantastic experience to run with them and have the chance to encourage someone. sometimes the focus is on how fast, what was the time, was it a pb??? I just really enjoyed running with the girls, mucking about and having fun!

So enough soul searching and I will update the running stuff :-)

Friday 6th october

5km easy run with Ray

Saturday 7th October

2km warm up, 10km race. Deanne and I ran with Ellie and some others and finished in 56:56. This was not the pb Ellie wanted but she certainly had a gutsy run and finished with style!!

Sunday 8th October
Week: 68.5km
Month: 78.5km
Year: 2527.5km
2hr run with the girls! We covered 20km and it was hot and tough!! We were all tired and there was a fair bit of grumping and swearing :-) hehehe we finished in one peice and then had a yummy breakfast and swim at Clovelli.

Monday9th October

Rest day!!

So this week feels like a bit of a new start!! I am feeling happier and relaxed again and am looking forward to the next 6months and the build up to 6ft!

Good to have you back again :) despite the pain it was a great run (I shall henceforth refer to it as a learning experience... hehe) and was awesome to have you and deanne and mel there with me. I might have to start trying to run with you guys on some of the longer runs and just see how long i can keep up!

i am glad you like that book - i think it is beautiful too - and a good reminder to enjoy what is here and now. thank you for reminding me too. i might buy a bike (oh wait - i did already!).

Good to hear from you Kit - FWIW always remember it is you who controls your attitude - try never to surrender that power to anyone else.

So when do Ray's earplugs turn up :-) :-)

Some nice runs in that lot it was great to catch up at Homebush - well done Kit ;-)

Talk about hidden talents.
Can Razor drive a car? Looking forward to the first violin performance.

And thanks for not embarassing me :-/\

I'm sorry you've not been your normal self but pleased to hear you are feeling better. Perhaps you can bring you violin around and we can have a little recital. I can accompany you on the piano. We'll hold a CR concert!

You know you are a serious runner when you have those of weeks and still get out for a run and really enjoy it.

Running is great for the stress and to be doing a 20km run on an off week when there is no race coming up soon is a clear sign that running is something you enjoy and gives you benefits - physically and mentally.

Take care Kit.

I think I will go in search of that book :-)

As always it was so good to catch up with you again Kit. I just love your attitude to running and to other runners. Its always nothing but positive and truly inspires me.
