With 2006 fast drawing to a close I thought I would dust off the blog and give it a spruse up for the new year! I love a new year and starting a fresh. For the past 10 years I have thought, "Heres my chance... a new year, I am going to do it right this year".... so far it is yet to happen. But that is the fun part. When I stop and look back we have had a lot of ups and downs but it has been one amazing ride! I actually struggle to reflect on this year.... so much seems to have happened. The highlights for me have been
* spending the year watching my spectacular neice grow and change
* watch my husband change jobs, loose weight, start to run and be so amazing
* see mum a bit happier
* develop some special friendships
* start the violin
* feeling happy, content and ready to start a family
Last year I set some running goals and I am ecstatic that I was able to achieve almost all of them.....
* Canberra Marathon- Goal sub 4hrs, acheived 3:48~ the most awesome experience!!!!
* Sydney marathon- not quite the time I wanted but amazing learning!!!! 3:56
* Particiapate in Cross Country season for Striders
* Half Marathon PB- I managed to take 5mins off my previous pb. 106 mins at Gold Coast and 103 mins at Central Coast.
* Run the last 4kms with Deanne in her Debut Marathon
* Sub 70min city to surf- acheived 68:54
* 5km PB- I managed to take 2 mins 20 secs off my time in the past year
Next year the big goal is to complete the 6ft track marathon and then who knows!
So I am looking forward to a year full of new challenges and experiences and once again I am sure to stuff up, make mistakes, put my foot in it, judge people and throw a hissy fit or two BUT I will also have fun, be silly, laugh way too much, love my family and friends, run, run, run and make the most of evrything thrown my way. We are only here once and who know for how long so enjoy!!
I am going to share what Ray put in my Christmas card this year because I like it :-)
" There is always some madness in Love. But there is also always some reason in madness" Friedrich Nieteche
" Be who you are and say what you feel. Because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind." Dr Seuss
" All we have to deciude is what to do with the time that is given to us..." JRR Tolkien
Happy new year to you all!!!! Here is to a year full of joy and happiness and a few PB's would not be too bad either!!! Back to running stuff in 2007 ;-)
